We also provide an outgoing mail server so that once you have authenticated with our mail servers you are allowed to send mail trough our servers, being part of our closed relay system. What is a closed relay system?
This is used to ensure that spammers do not connect to our servers when they do not have an account with us, using our servers to spam both our users and other users on the internet. Spamming is a serious problem as it consumes a lot of processing power and bandwidth, and also annoys e-mail users, receiving lots of mail that they never intended or wanted to receive.
